We are proposing an AI-driven emergency triage and response decision-support system for the snakebite patient journey, repurposing a voice/call-analysis AI engine we have already built for India's 112 emergency response system. The system would: - Triage incoming snakebite calls in local languages, assess severity signals in real time, and route the case to the nearest facility with confirmed antivenom stock - Coordinate dispatch (ambulance, community health worker, or nearest transport) to cut the time between bite and effective care - Flag stock-outs and gaps at the facility level to support system-wide readiness in high-burden districts This directly targets the bite-to-emergency-care pathway the prize is scoped around, and is a case of an existing technology (emergency call-analysis AI) being adapted from a neighbouring field — which we understand fits the Launch track.

Our expertise is in community-based public health implementation rather than laboratory or clinical snakebite research. I am exploring how Pakistan's existing Lady Health Worker (LHW) Program can be used as a sustainable platform for household-level snakebite prevention, early recognition, and timely referral in rural communities where snakebite remains a significant health risk. The proposed approach would integrate snakebite education into the routine household visits already conducted by Lady Health Workers, without creating a parallel program. Potential activities include: - Raising community awareness about snakebite prevention, including environmental risk reduction around homes and fields, safe agricultural practices, use of protective footwear, and reducing exposure during high-risk seasons. - Educating families on evidence-based first aid after snakebite and discouraging harmful traditional practices that delay appropriate treatment. - Improving recognition of danger signs and promoting rapid referral to health facilities capable of providing appropriate management, including antivenom where available. - Supporting community surveillance and reporting of snakebite incidents to strengthen local health system responses. - Developing culturally appropriate education materials and evaluating the effectiveness of household-level behaviour change interventions through implementation research. This approach builds on our experience designing and implementing community health interventions through primary healthcare systems and training community health workers for large-scale behaviour change programs.

Knowing a patient's blood group, prior antivenom reactions or allergies, and existing health conditions can directly influence antivenom dosing and treatment decisions. This is especially valuable in rural and remote areas of India, where snakebite incidence is highest and patients often arrive at treatment centers with no medical documentation, causing delays that can be fatal.
