My work is driven by a commitment to reducing preventable illness and death through locally relevant evidence, improved access to life-saving interventions, and stronger health systems. My research focuses on advancing snakebite research through the integration of Biostatistics, Data Science, and Global Public Health Modeling. I apply AI and machine learning methods to improve snakebite prevention, risk prediction, clinical decision-making, and public health interventions. My work incorporates approaches such as statistical experimental designs, uplift modeling, image analysis, and spatiotemporal modeling to understand snakebite burden and support evidence-based strategies.

I am a mid career medical toxinologist (~100 publications, h index 27) based in a rural medical school in Sri Lanka where snakebite is a major public health problem. For the last 16 years, I conduct experimental, clinical and epidemiological research to solve local snakebite problems. I lead a local snakebite research group with strong local and external collaborations. I initiated Anuradhapura Snakebite Cohort in 2012 (>8300 patient to date) which supports research and clinic.

I am a research scientist who is working on snakebites in rural areas of Pakistan and is interested to develop a cost effective medical device to diagnose the snake bite in home settings particularly those the most dangerous common krait snake who's bite can be misunderstood by the bite of mosquitoes or other insects.

We have established relationships across the health system, from national policymakers to district teams, frontline clinics and rural communities. Our key assets include access to and experience working with national snakebite surveillance data captured through IDSR, and the on-the-ground reach to reach high-burden districts.

I'm Aadi, an integrated MSc Physics student at IIRBS, Mahatma Gandhi University, in Kerala, India. Alongside my physics studies, I build software. I've developed IoT systems, simulation tools, and apps. I'm from Thiruvananthapuram, a region where snakebite is a real and recurring problem in surrounding rural areas, so this isn't an abstract issue for me.

I am a co-founder of Midnightage Digital Marketing Services, a Philippines-based digital solutions team with experience building community-facing technology products. Our work spans mobile application development, health communications, UX design for low-literacy audiences, and local government partnerships across Luzon. We have existing relationships with community organisations and health workers in rural Luzon, giving us direct access to the communities most affected by snakebite.

I am a final year PhD student at the University of Oxford and my doctoral research sits at the nexus of snakebite envenoming and data sovereignty. As part of this work, I coordinate the Global Snakebite Research Hub (https://globalsnakebiteresearch.tghn.org), which connects snakebite clinicians, researchers, and general enthusiasts around the world. This community of practice is a great place to disseminate research outputs and relevant training to maximise impact.

Through our iBoard Lokal platform, we organize rural stakeholders into a trusted digital ecosystem for coordination, communication, and service delivery. For the Wellcome Snakebite Innovation Prize, we are adapting this platform into a community-based emergency coordination system that reduces delays from snakebite to effective care.
