I am an Epidemiologist and Public Health Researcher with experience in epidemiological research, implementation science, and biostatistics. Beyond research, I have actively engaged with communities in Baringo County, where snakebite is a frequent public health challenge affecting rural populations. This experience has given me firsthand insight into the barriers to timely care, community perceptions, and the realities of delivering health interventions in underserved setting

Daniel Buitrago Medina is a veterinarian, field epidemiologist, and doctoral candidate in Epidemiology at Universidad de Antioquia, and assistant professor of epidemiology at Universidad del Rosario (Colombia). His work applies machine learning and climate–ecological data to snakebite envenoming. He is adapting a predictive engine into a deployable access-and-logistics solution that pre-positions antivenom and triggers rapid dispatch in Antioquia's highest-burden subregions.

I am the founder of ODOS, an Ethiopia-based venture building offline-first digital tools for public health and last-mile logistics in low-connectivity settings. For the prize, I am developing a concept using real-time antivenom stock visibility and dispatch tracking to speed up treatment after a snakebite. I am working solo and looking to build a team.

Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Umeyor is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. He won the AGNES Junior Researcher Grant, International Foundation for Science (IFS) Grant, and DBT-TWAS-UNESCO Postdoctoral Fellowship to ICT, Mumbai, India. In 2025, he partnered with researchers from UCL, UK, FIOTEC, Brazil, and ARK Foundation, Bangladesh to win the UCL Global Engagement Funds. He is Global Assessor for RSTMH, London and Grant Assessor for APHRC, Nairobi.

I am Dr. Chimere May Ohajinwa, an Environmental Toxicologist, Public Health Expert, and Sustainability Specialist with over 15 years of experience spanning academia and the not-for-profit sector. I am passionate about developing innovative, community-based solutions to reduce preventable diseases and improve health outcomes in Nigeria. I am the Lead Consultant at C-Circle Research and Team Lead of the C-Circle Foundation for Sustainable Health and Environment.

Adven Hutajulu is the founder of Indonesia Sustainable Development Initiative an NGO supporting community building resilience and escape poverty. He has over 10 years of experience across Indonesia's development sector spanning form strategic fundraising, business development, and to program design. His field experience covers community nutrition, livelihoods, enterprise development, supply chain, and WASH programming

I am an Assistant Professor, with expertise in toxicology, biomedical sciences, and translational health research. I earned my PhD in Biochemistry related to snake antivenom production. I previously worked at the Anti-Snake Venom and Anti-Rabies Serology Laboratory, Government of Sindh, where I gained practical experience in snakebite diagnostics and management. I am the inventor of a patent and have published peer-reviewed research. My research interests include snakebite solutions.

Dr. Precious Joan Wapukha is a cultural expert committed to improving emergency and supportive care by addressing socio-cultural barriers that affect healthcare access. She integrates cultural knowledge with emergency care practices to enhance community trust and patient outcomes. Her work focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to support culturally responsive healthcare, strengthen emergency response systems, and promote equitable, patient-centred care across diverse groups.

Elizabeth Mathew is a Senior Lecturer with experience in research, teaching, and academic mentorship. She is passionate about leveraging research and cross-sector partnerships to address pressing challenges and drive innovation. As part of the Welcome Snakebite Innovation Prize, she is keen to connect with researchers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to develop solutions that contribute to reducing the burden of snakebite envenoming.
