Systems, Logistics, and Innovation Opportunities in Snakebite Care

Effective snakebite response depends on systems that can move patients, information, resources, and care quickly and reliably. This webinar focuses on the broader systems that shape access to timely and appropriate snakebite care, including emergency response, transport, referral pathways, facility readiness, diagnostics, clinical decision support, and data-informed planning. Participants will explore where gaps occur across the bite-to-care pathway and how different types of innovation, including technological, logistical, financial, social, and health system approaches, may help address these barriers. The webinar clarifed the types of solutions that are in scope for the Prize, helping participants enter the SnakeHack with a clearer understanding of where their expertise or existing work may contribute.

Featured speaker:

• Dr. Patrick Tiglao is an Emergency Medicine specialist and Chair of the Southeast Asian Remote Envenomation Consultancy Services. He is an expert in snakebite management, pre-hospital emergency care, and disaster medicine, and frequently consults on bite-to-care pathways and emergency medical response.
