SnakeHack: Sub-Saharan Africa
The Snakehack brings together people with deep snakebite knowledge and people with fresh problem-solving skills from adjacent fields across Sub-Saharan Africa.
The SnakeHack will take place on 10–11 August 2026 at Villa Rosa Kempinski.
This two-day collaborative innovation sprint will bring together innovators, researchers, clinicians, technologists, logisticians, policymakers, and ecosystem partners to form multidisciplinary teams, refine intervention concepts, strengthen partnerships, and prepare stronger applications for the Wellcome Snakebite Innovation Prize.
Unlike traditional hackathons, this is not a competition. It is a guided working environment where multidisciplinary teams—including clinicians, researchers, logisticians, and digital health innovators—refine their entries. Using a patient journey framework, participants will stress-test solutions against operational realities, ensuring alignment with the Wellcome Snakebite Innovation Prize priorities.
Whether you are a startup, a health practitioner, or an implementation expert, the SnakeHack provides the structured support, mentorship, and collaborative space needed to build grounded, impactful interventions.
