From Diagnosis to Recovery: Assessment & Medical Care [Español/Portuguese]
This session focuses on the in-facility stretch of the patient journey, assessment, diagnosis, emergency, and supportive care, pairing clinical expertise with the innovators who can build the tools.

This session picks up where Webinar 2 left off: the second stretch of the snakebite patient journey, everything that happens once the patient reaches care across two phases: assessment & diagnosis, and emergency & supportive care. Like Webinar 2, it is open to both communities: snakebite researchers, clinicians, toxinologists, and frontline health workers sit alongside innovators from diagnostics, medical devices, telemedicine, data/AI, and health systems who can build the tools.
The session uses concrete cross-sector examples (telemedicine networks, point-of-care diagnostics, decentralized care) to connect participants’ current work to the snakebite challenge. It closes with a challenge-based matchmaking breakout that pairs clinical expertise with solution-builders, ahead of the SnakeHack.
By the end of this session, participants should be able to: locate where their expertise fits in the in-facility stretch of the patient journey (assessment, diagnosis, emergency, and supportive care), name 1-2 specific gaps the prize is trying to fill once the patient reaches care, and identify at least one collaborator whose skills complement theirs.
